Christmas is over

Painted gourds have been finished. All other gifts bought and sent. Gifts received. Cooking for the family party at my sister's house is completed and already eaten. Hopefully, she will have one or two days leftovers. All the trips by loved ones safely completed. Cats all alive. House cleaned. Wondering where to store everything. Galley checked in record time. Sleep deprivation treated.

On toward New Year's! Making seafood gumbo to take to friend's house.
First goal of the new year (after finishing its celebration) -- reorganization. Weeding through piles of accumulated bills, papers, catalogs to trash the old and store the must keeps.

Winter in Northern Michigan

No wonder I spend so much time indoors! It is so cold out, and we have about 6" of snow on the ground. It is sunny right now, which is a change from the usual gray gloom. I already have piles of snow along the walkways. At least there is not the heavy ice that is devastating so many of the Central States. I'm not a great winter outdoor enthusiast. It's time to read.
